Washington Alpha Delt e A PUBLICATION OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST ALUMNI OF ALPHA DELTA PHI • SUMMER 2018 LIVING UP TO THE CORE VALUES Alumni and Undergraduates Further Success of Chapter A s the 2017-18 academic year at UW is wrapping up, I am happy to report that the undergraduate Chapter had an- other outstanding year. e Alumni Board has made sig- nificant progress in supporting our undergraduates, specifically in relation to risk management. Washington Chapter Adopts New Risk Management Policies e board, in consultation with counsel and the Chapter's Exec- utive Council, draed and adopted new policies and procedures related to alcohol and personal conduct consistent with our val- ues and UW and Interfraternity Council rules. is action was not in response to any negative incidents by our Chapter, but S ave the date for this celebratory event on November 2, 2018. Details for the event will be forthcoming in the fall as final plans are made. It is an important milestone in the history of our Chapter, so put it on your calendars now! All alumni and family members are invited to attend the 10-year celebration of the reopening of ΑΔΦ Washington Chapter at the University of Wash- ington. In 2007, the Alumni Association undertook the momentous task of closing the temporary boarding house, doing some initial but expensive tune-ups to the Chapter house, gaining approval from the University's ad- ministration, and opening the doors to the first pledge class of 11 members in 2008. From that time on, stressing quality over numbers, the Chapter has grown to be one of the premier fraternities on campus. We are a leader ac- ademically, socially, in supporting the IFC, and conduct one of the major charities in the UW Greek system. Now with 90 members, we continue to foster the development of young men who promise to be leaders profession- ally and valued contributors to society. is success is something for which we can all be proud! Xaipe, Alpha Delta Phi Washington Chapter to Celebrate 10-Year Anniversary of Reopening at UW November 2, 2018 rather to prevent them from occurring. As the national and local landscape for Greek life can and does change, these policies and procedures will continue to be revisited. Alumni Host Successful Eells Cup is past month we held another fantastic Eells Cup at Sand Point Country Club. Close to 80 alumni came out to play golf on a perfect May day and others joined in aer for the cocktail hour and dinner event, where the Alumni Board discussed plans for the future of the Chapter house. We are planning the 2019 Eells Cup for next May, so round up your foursome early and stay tuned for details. Special thanks to Kevin Kane '94 for organiz- ing this year's event. Undergraduate Chapter Successes Highlights for the undergraduates include initiating all 29 pledg- es in January, maintaining the highest cumulative GPA across all fraternities at UW, and raising more than $65,000 for Children's Hospital through the Bubble Bash auction. anks to all the alumni who attended and supported this great cause. Our undergraduates continue to show they are deserving of our support. If you are interested in getting involved with the Alum- ni Board or any special events, please reach out to me.
