THE BEARCAT SIG Zeta Psi Chapter of Sigma Chi at The University of Cincinnati V Spring 2018 SURPASSING EXPECTATIONS W e had another great fall semester at Zeta Psi Chapter. Aer a brief hiatus, we had our Homecoming back at the chapter house, courtesy of Elliott Hilsinger '69. e brats, metts, and Elliott's super-hot metts were flying off the table as fast as he could cook them and the house was filled to capacity with alumni and actives. e energy was exciting and unde- niable. Homecoming is a day that allows us to reminisce on old times with brothers and make new memories. Sigma Chi brotherhood knows no age. I'm always amazed by the friendships I have with guys 10 years younger than me and 40 years older than me. We truly have a special brotherhood at Zeta Psi. Surpassing Our First Annual Fundraising Goal When we started the Zeta Psi annual campaign, we didn't know what to expect. We set our in- augural year goal at $20,000 and we called upon Zeta Psis from all generations to step up to the plate and help us hit our goal. Boy did you step up to the plate. One hundred and eleven donors that spanned across all generations helped us raise $56,571! We were blown away by your generosity and willingness to make your mark on the house for years to come. While last year's results were great, it's time to look to the future. We've set our 2018 Annual Fund goal at $30,000. Please join me in donating and visit donate.zetapsisigs.com or mail a check to Lincoln W. Pavey Educational Foundation, P.O. Box 42605, Blue Ash, OH 45242. Checks should be made out to the Sigma Chi Building Co. for house improvements (preferred and non- tax deductible) or to the LWPEF for leadership programs (tax deductible). Active Chapter Flourishes in Cincy and Across the Globe Since we invested in new public bathrooms, din- ing room cabinets, and renovated the library, the actives have stepped up their game. e house has been cleaner than I have seen it in years and the library is the most utilized room in the house. It's no surprise they have 3.35 GPA—third out of 22 fraternities. Brothers have also been secur- ing co-op jobs all over the country and are tak- ing their annual mission trip to Nicaragua. I'm proud of these young men and the impact they are having on the world. Something to Be Proud Of At the March House Corporation meeting we au- thorized the full renovation of the second floor of the dorm wing and we are going to replace the living room flooring. We strive to make the chap- ter house something we are all proud to come back to. We are always looking to lower our costs, so please reach out to me if you are a construc- tion vendor in Cincinnati or if you know one. In Hoc Signo Vinces, Sean M. Lee '09 House Corporation President alumni@zetapsisigs.com Zeta Psi Continues to Flourish Thanks to Alumni and Impressive Actives
