Chapter Eternal more than 50 years and was a dedicated board member of Altenheim St. Louis senior living community and Affinia Healthcare in St. Louis. Significant Sig Mike Rose '63 entered Chapter Eternal on April 2, 2017, at the age of 75. Mike was born on March 2, 1942, in Akron, Ohio. He earned his bachelor's degree in business admin- istration from the University of Cincinnati and his law degree from Harvard University. As a partner in a Cincinnati law firm, Mike worked directly with one of the largest franchisees of Holiday Inn hotels. is relationship prompt- ed his moving to Memphis, Tenn., in 1973 to aid the struggling franchise. Advancing within the company, Rose became chairman and CEO of Holiday Inn Corporation in Memphis. He was chairman for First Horizon National Cor- poration in Memphis during the Great Reces- sion, and fought for it to remain a state bank, as opposed to being sold to a national bank. He served as chairman of Gaylord Entertainment in Nashville, Tenn., and was the longest-tenured board member in General Mills' history until his retirement in 2016. Michael R. Riggs '73 entered Chapter Eternal on March 26, 2018. He was 67. Michael made an impact on his friends, family, and Sigma Chi brothers. If you've ever attended a Zeta Psi Steak Fry, you would have met Mike while he was manning the grill and preparing the steaks. We have named the Steak Fry the Mike Riggs Steak Fry in his honor.
