Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 SIGMA PI | BETA-GAMMA CHAPTER EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY Dear Brothers, On Friday, December 22, 2017, Marty Morgan and I met with Eastern's president, Dr. David Glassman. He invited us to his office to talk about our Chapter House expansion and the University's commitment to the Greek system. Dr. Glassman was well informed of our plans. He has been following our progress in the alumni newsletter, Beta-Gamma Gab, that is sent to his office. He fully supports our initiative and thanked us for having confidence in the university and community to make an investment of this kind. He reported there are NO PLANS to abandon the Greek system on campus. He does understand times are tough, but assured us things are looking up with projections for enrollment and new university programming. The president left us with his complete support and endorsement of the project. He realizes this is a win-win for "gown and town." The Sigma Pi project represents not only the support of the campus but a willingness to work with the community leaders to see a renaissance of off-campus residents that adds to the neighborhood it wants to be a part of. This type of restoration is good for both the campus and community. In closing, Dr. Glassman indicated he is willing to supply letters of support for the project and looks forward to the day the ribbon is cut on the revitalized Chapter House. Following the meeting with the president, we met with Dr. Jay Gatrell, provost and vice president for academic affairs. He is new to the campus and thanked us for our support of the campus and Brotherhood. He is a Sigma Pi. He too wants to work with us to revitalize the Greek community on campus.
