As always, the semester was filled with many activities ranging from initiating 32 men into the brotherhood to leadership and service opportunities. We look forward to maintaining our strong academic performance and philanthropic contributions. Brothers Achieve Top GPA The gentlemen of Beta Zeta are proud to have recorded our third semester with the highest GPA on campus. In the fall, we attained a 3.48 GPA and congratulated nine brothers for their selection into the Top 100 students of Butler University. With this momentum carrying us into the next semester, Beta Zeta is prepared to keep our first-place position. Beta Zeta Raises $13,000 for the Matt White ALS Foundation Our members completed yet another successful semester of philanthropic contributions. We raised $13,000 for the Matt White Cure ALS Founda- tion, which is donated to continue ALS research. In total, we have raised more than $46,000 for various philanthropies. With this success under our belt, we aim to raise $42,000 for the upcoming spring philanthropy, Trike- la-tron. Beta Zeta also recorded more than 30,000 service hours for the 2017 calendar year, and each brother averaged 26.31 service hours. K now a brother that would be great as an alumni volunteer? Exemplifying the Core Values Beta Zeta Raises More Than $46,000 for Philanthropic Endeavors Join Our Alumni Volunteers Chapter Receives Hugh Shields Award In January, Beta Zeta retired another Hugh Shields flag only to welcome a 15th Hugh Shields award. This will be our fifth award in five years, rec- ognizing our outstanding leadership and dedication to the Delta Tau Delta core values. More than 95% of our members are in organizations outside of the fraternity and 75% of brothers hold leadership positions. Thank You, Alumni Much of our success today would not be possible without the support of our alumni brothers. The foundation you provided has only strengthened over time as Beta Zeta continues to shine as a leader in the Butler Greek community. The next time you find yourself in Indianapolis, stop by the Shelter any time. Fraternally, Benjamin Nick '20 Austin Cobb '19 Chapter President Director of Recruitment (574) 248-2137 (317) 625-5351 bnick@butler.edu amcobb@butler.edu "Delta Tau Delta has been a strong force in my life from helping me meet my best friends to developing the skills necessary to be successful in the business world. I regret that my role in the national organization precludes me from being a volunteer, but that won't keep me from stopping by the shelter for some BZ camaraderie." - Steve Vedra '02 "Being Chapter Adviser the past two years was, in a lot of ways, similar to my undergraduate experience with Delt in that it gave me so much more than I feel like I gave it. It was a privilege to work with men who are still very much committed to lives of excellence, and the objective of being the best fraternity and overall student organization on Butler's campus. I'll cherish the relationships I developed and all the undergraduate fraternity accomplished, specifically having the number one fraternity GPA each semester during my time as adviser, two large pledge classes, each with greater than 95% bid acceptance rates, and winning two Hugh Shields Awards for Chapter Excellence." - Chad Miller '09
