The 11- week period to complete the work was as challenging as ever, made even more so due to the concurrent roadway project on Crescent Drive. With weeks of airborne demolition and concrete dust that filtered through our open windows, making final cleanup extremely difficult. Several major mechanical system upgrades were completed, including replacement of the chiller and chiller pad, replacement of the heating and cooling system for the house director's suite (now an energy-efficient system that operates independently from the main system), and replacement of six failing fan coil units. Norma Jeanne Doleshal moved back in to her renovated house director's suite and is thrilled with her new digs. This long-overdue improvement reconfigured her bathroom and closet space to include her own washer/dryer units. White subway tile walls are accented with a "pearl" liner tile that, together with the charming "X" sconce lights in her bedroom, adds a touch of Chi Omega to her space. A recessed mini-bar was added behind her bedroom door with sink, under- counter refrigerator and Keurig machine. Additional bookshelf and storage cabinets will be installed in her bedroom over the winter break. The suite has never looked better. Last but not least was the expansion/renovation of the snack kitchen in the dining room to better Exciting Chapter House Updates Completed A Publication of Chi Omega at the University of Kansas Lambda Log FALL 2017 Thank you, Lorie, for all you do to keep our Lambda home beautiful. As a surprise to the members, the lighting effect can be changed to celebrate any occasion with a coordinating color scheme. The Tube Room got a furnishings face-lift this summer. Gone is the big screen TV, and in its place is a larger wall-mounted smart TV with expanded soft-eating area for viewing and table and chair settings to accommodate meetings and group study with guests.
