pg. 2 Lambda Log accommodate current trends. A new ice and water dispenser replaces all manner of previously offered beverages and allows instant filling of insulated tumblers. A commercial-plumbed Keurig machine means no one needs to refill the water chamber when they brew a cup, and the new sub-zero, all-refrigeration unit increased holding space for after-hour meals. New hardwood floors, walnut cabinets, and quartz countertops complement the dining room décor and make it feel as though the space has always been there. Members received very positive feedback during recruitment this fall, making all of the improvements a worthwhile investment for the women of Lambda Chapter. Many, many thanks for the dedication and talent of Julie Numrich Murray '96, Stacey Satterthwaite Dillon '76, Tree Lynch Hanna '89, Jennifer Inskeep Godar '92, and Kay Kimbell Almanza '85 for making the improvements such a grand success. A special thanks to the many alumni who donated to the projects and the generous contributions from the Parents Club that made these projects a reality. The successes achieved by Lambda Chapter are directly attributed to the loyal support from you and your sisters. Your gifts allow us to provide an environment where our undergraduates can prepare for excellence in their lives after college while gaining friendships that will last a lifetime. O n September 15-17, 20 members of the pledge class of 1970, as well as eight sisters from surrounding classes, gathered for a delicious Mexican buffet prepared by Ruthie Becker Gillespie '70 and Cindy Brown Burgess '70 at the Hampton Inn on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City. The next morning the ladies traveled to Lawrence and were treated to brunch at the Chapter House, courtesy of Mom Norma Jeanne Doleshal. Afterward, they toured the house, which had been totally remodeled since they graduated from KU. That evening, Chris Ferguson Waring '70, Cathy Bohl Lawless '70, and Carol Lippitt Lupton '70 hosted dinner, followed by an Owl Hoot and singing of "Shades" at Chris' home. 1970s Sisters Reunite for a Wonderful Weekend Beautifully renovated snack kitchen!
