The Crescent page 2 CHAPTER OFFICERS Tri Delta Sees Success in a Multitude of Areas Delta Mu Shines in Recruitment, Academics, and Philanthropy ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS After welcoming a class of 141 new members, Delta Mu was ranked fourth in academics among all Panhellenic sororities with an overall GPA of 3.52. Of our 427 members, 147 were recognized on the Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester, and 107 were recognized on the President's List. GIVING BACK TO ST. JUDE Outside of academics, Delta Mu also saw great success in our philanthropic efforts for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the greater Tuscaloosa community. This year, the philan- thropy team is diligently working to plan our biannual silent auction. Two years ago we held our first silent auction, Miracles on the River, benefiting St. Jude. It was a huge success and raised more than $40,000 in support of the hos- pital. We are extremely excited to announce that our second annual silent auction will be held Friday, March 23, at Hotel Capstone as a part of our Parents' Weekend. Seeing the willingness of other chapters across campus to serve Tri Delta and the kids of St. Jude was such an incredible moment. Without the support and encourage- ment from the community, we would not have hit our fundraising goal for the year. CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT Delta Mu created the Tide Together Student Support Fund, which provides assistance to UA students in need or crisis who are identified through the University's Office of Student Care and Well-Being. Funds may be used to purchase food, personal hygiene items, lodging, transpor- tation, gift cards, groceries, and other essentials for students in need. We try to give back to the community and leave it better than we found it. We have an amazing semester in store. As always, we would love to see our alumnae stop by the house any time. Our doors are always open!
