IN MEMORIAM
Frances Wilson Kennington '55 passed away
on May 2, 2017, after an extended illness. She
began painting portraits in the mid-1970s, first
of her own children, and then of other children
in the neighborhood. Soon, she was a much
sought-after portrait artist. Over time, her portrait
art evolved into the contemporary realism style.
Frances' work is on display in the permanent
collections of the Wiregrass Museum of Art,
as well as art museums in Huntsville, Mobile,
and Montgomery. They can also be seen at the
Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio, the
Cheekwood Museum of Art in Nashville, and the
Smithsonian Museum of Art in Washington, D.C.
She also donated a painting to the new Tri Delta
House. Frances was preceded in death by her
husband, Don, and is survived by three children:
Brooke, Russ, and Brad.
Anne Harper Arrasmith '64 an artist, educator,
and arts advocate, passed away on February 1.
In 1986, she, along with Peter Prinz, co-founded
Space One Eleven (SOE), a nationally recog-
nized non-profit visual arts organization that has
presented hundreds of artists in over 250 visual
arts exhibitions and projects, and developed and
implemented SOE's flagship tuition-free arts edu-
cation program, City Center Art, which serves
economically disadvantaged youth and annually
employs artists as teachers and workshop leaders.
In conjunction with her work at SOE, she was a
mentor to many young people who aspired to pro-
fessions in the arts. Throughout her life she contin-
ued her work as a visual artist. Anne is survived by
her husband, Dr. Warren W. Arrasmith; daughter
Tyndall; two grandchildren, Ella and Waylon; and
numerous family and friends.

their 40th reunion in October 2017
at Orange Beach, Alabama.
Ann Damon Haas '77 was able to secure
a house on the beach large enough to sleep
all 27 attendees. Several members contrib-
uted to the fun. Many long walks on the
beach were conducted, an organized yoga
session was held at their private pool, and
a trip to the Flora-Bama was made. There
were Tri Delta and U of A decorations
throughout the house.
The weekend concluded with a luau cel-
ebration complete with glow stick neck-
laces, bracelets, rings, as well as party hats,
party favors, music, dancing, sparklers,
and even fireworks! The celebration ended
with a tribute to the beloved Leah Oldacre
Taylor '77, whom we recently lost. As
paper lanterns were released into the night,
they made a perfect triangle as they drifted
away. Memories were shared, friendships
renewed, all in the bonds, with Delta Love!
