This has been the essence of the Fraternity and Sorority PAC's mission since its founding in 2005. And our mission is perhaps more urgent today than it has ever been. What would you say if I told you there are influential policy makers who would like nothing more than to ban our organizations? How would you feel if you found out tomorrow that your organization was being forced to open its membership to both men and women? Even as I write this letter, our organizations are facing these very real challenges. A bill has been proposed in the state of Tennessee that would ban fraternities and sororities at Tennessee public colleges and universities. The battle over membership in single-sex organizations continues at Harvard. Stories like these illustrate the urgency of our mission. Stories like these remind me that we must raise our collective voices as advocates for fraternities and sororities. Your support makes a critical difference in helping us confront issues like these. In 2017 our donors across the country stepped up at a record-breaking level to ensure we could continue to support federal candidates who believe in the value of fraternity and sorority life. We raised more than $433,000 in 2017, a 70% increase over 2016, and 24% better than our previous best year in 2015. Our 2018 goal is to raise $550,000 from 2,800 Greek donors. We set this aggressive goal because there is so much work to be done. Reaching this goal will ensure the fraternity and sorority voice is heard by Congressional candidates. With your support the FSPAC will continue to work diligently to preserve our single-sex status, protect the principles of freedom of association, and ensure due process rights for individuals and organizations. As a proud fraternity member I am ready to fight for the organizations that play such an important role in the lives of its members. I hope you will join me in making a contribution to the FSPAC. I am passionate about our mission because I understand the urgency of our cause. When speaking to members of Greek organizations about the very real challenges we face many are surprised to learn that the brotherhood and sisterhood they enjoyed in college is no longer guaranteed for future generations of men and women. The unique role of the FSPAC is to raise money to support candi- dates who can achieve our legislative priorities in Washington, D.C., and who are committed to defending and enhancing the fraternal experience. In 2018 we plan to raise $550,000 from 2,800 donors. When we succeed we will have $110,000 more to give to candidates over last year and double the number of donors enrolled in the mission to defend and enhance the fraternal experience. This increase in dollars and donors is critical heading into the 2018 mid- term elections. If you received this newsletter from the FSPAC, you are probably already a longtime and loyal donor.
