W hile the Sigma Nu experience is certainly more than the bricks and mortar of the chapter house, our home undoubtedly plays a significant role in the development of our brothers and as a proud symbol of our shared values and goals. Built in 1974, 809 West Mississippi has been a part of Sigma Nu's legacy for nearly 45 years. Brothers, the house is showing its age. It is clear we must make a major investment in our chapter house if we are to remain competitive, provide a quality living environment, and continue excelling with honor on campus at Louisiana Tech. Keeping Our Brothers Safe e safety of our collegiate members is of utmost importance to the Eta Zeta House Corporation; we must offer a structurally sound and safe home for our collegians. Much like our personal homes, our chapter house must be a safe haven that instills confidence in our members and their parents. Pursuing Excellence Louisiana Tech is as academically challenging as ever and the need for an enhanced, quiet, well-lit, and comfortable study space within our facility is necessary for our members to achieve. We have all seen the impact of technology over the years, as devices not present during your college years are now necessities, including personal computers, high-speed internet access, email, and more. Our plan will help ensure that Sigma Nu excels academically and remains scholastic leaders on campus and within the Greek system. Setting Ourselves Apart While Sigma Nu continues to attract some of the top men, we know that we are losing quality potential members to other fraternities that offer better facilities. Many of you know our neighbors next door (Pi Kappa Alpha) recently built a new house during the 2013-14 academic year and Delta Chi built a new facility one block away in 2010. We must also compete with the amenities offered in on-campus residence halls and off-campus apartments. We can no longer meet the needs of our members; our chapter house has lasted nearly 45 years through the wear and tear of fraternity life with no major renovations since it was built. For Sigma Nu to remain the premier fraternity at Louisiana Tech, we must commit to a new, first-class facility to attract the quality men who come to Ruston. Our Needs and Opportunities
