This is a time to meet and greet fel- low Chamber members and concerned citizens, to learn about the Tehama Arts Council and to find out what is happening around the area. Refreshments will be served. • Corning in the Evening • Community Crush - On Saturday Pacific Sun will be holding a Community Crush Day at their milling facility 22880 Gerber Rd. in Gerber. It is an opportunity for smaller olive producers to bring their fruit and receive fresh pressed olive oil in return. Receiving hours are from 7-11 a.m. The minimum weight is 50 lbs. If you have less you may want to collaborate with a neighbor to combine yields and transport all fruit in one trip. The cost to mill is $0.50 per pound. All vari- eties are welcome. This year Pacific Sun Gourmet is hav- ing this Community Crush instead of the Love at First Crush. There will be no food, music or vendors at this event. If you need more information call Callie Wolverton at (530) 385- 1475. • Paskenta Dinner - This Saturday the Paskenta Hall Fall Dinner will take place. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is at 6 pm. Dance to the music of Roy Dyer and the Bigguns. Tickets are available at the Corning Chamber, Corning Rabobank, Flournoy Store & Deli and from Emily Murphy. The cost for adults is $15 and children 6 to 12 $6. Children under five eat free. The dinner includes barbecue lamb, & steak, baked potato with toppings, green beans, green salad, French bread, coffee tea and water. Desserts are provided by guest. • Veterans Day - The Corning Veterans Groups are Celebrating Veterans Day on Monday, November 12, with a Parade at 10:30 am, starting at City Hall and ends at the Memorial Hall. At 11:15 a.m. there will be the Presentation of Colors and a short program at the Memorial Hall. Following the program there will be a hamburger barbecue served from 12 to 1:30 p.m., prepared by the Corning Exchange Club. City Hall and the Chamber will be closed next Monday for Veterans Day. • Corning in the Morning - The Corning Senior Cen- ter will host a Senior Fair in conjunction with the Corn- Chairwoman's Corner — Holiday Season favorite time of year — Thanksgiving and Christ- mas. We are approaching my fun events supporting branding and our wonderful downtown merchants. It all starts with the I love hearing about the downtown lighted Christ- mas Parade the Saturday after Thanksgiving and then we go right into the Holiday Hottie Party 2-7 p.m. on Dec. 1. There will be a shuttle from Bend School to the event which includes shopping, signature cock- tails, appetizers and door prizes. I want to encourage you to shop local and try to buy most, if not all, of your Christmas presents at our downtown merchants. Get out and see what downtown Red Bluff has to offer. Find great gifts that you can't find in your typical "big box store" and support your local economy. The chamber staff and board are busy at work to help bring new events to our area and to revitalize some events that have gone by the wayside. Keep your eye out for upcoming tournaments, expos, rallies and a new murder mystery dinner which will most certainly be entertaining.
