Madison Lauderback '18 and Laura Catherine Wallace '19 are members of Capstone Men and Women. Jessica Procter '18 is Miss Alabama and placed seventh runner-up in the Miss America pageant. Jessica won the Quality of Life Award at the Miss America Pageant for her platform, Stand Up to Hunger. Tanner Fant '19 won second runner-up in the Miss Mississippi Pageant this summer and recently won the title of Miss Meridian 2017. Maddie Bryan '19 won first runner-up in the Miss University of Alabama pageant. Callie Cochran '15 is now a part of the 2017-18 lobby board for the University's Student Government Association. Philanthropy Chairman Brittany Johnson '18 has been accepted into the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical School. Danielle Buzzard '20 has been accepted into the Texas Tech University Pharmacy School. ALPHA GAMS ARE CAMPUS LEADERS I had the privilege of serving as this year's recruitment chairman. It was an absolute honor to serve Alpha Gam in this way. Recruitment was a success for several reasons. When I was elected to this job one year ago, I decided that recruitment was going to be a fun, life-giving, enthusiastic, and positive experience for the women in Psi Chapter. I decided it was time to change the reputation of recruitment. I knew if I could get the current members to buy into the new process, we would have a successful recruitment. I began brainstorming ways to make the process more fun and I came up with a few ideas. Every morning of recruitment workshop I asked our members to recite out loud a mission statement I wrote: "I will choose to have the best attitude about this week. I will listen and respect one another. I will learn all the PNMs names and start loving them. They are actual humans and we care about them. I choose Alpha Gam again, today, and everyday. This is going to be the BEST week ever! We are going to win rush!" Asking the women to recite this every morning enhanced our mood and energy. I also implemented some dancing workout videos when the girls needed a little pick me up.
