SIGMACHI 3 Lambda Upholds Values of Friendship, Justice and Learning Chapter Ranked Top in Greek Community F rom completing a successful recruitment to coordinating a fun-filled Dad's Weekend, Lambda Chapter is experiencing yet another successful school year. Lambda Chapter Welcomes 35 Fall Pledges We finished up recruitment in the third week of September and extended 35 bids to men who exemplify the Jordan Standard. We had more than 900 men come through the Chapter House for recruitment hoping to get a chance to pledge this great Fraternity. Henry Konzen '19 led the Chapter through the process and gave many hours of his time to ensure we recruited the best future brothers. Also, thank you to Phil French '85 and Mike Fox '87 for helping us through the process. Out of the 35 new members, 14 are legacies. Undergraduates Enjoy Dad's Weekend We hosted another successful Dad's Weekend, which was coordinated by Social Chairman Brian Gradison '19 and his father, Mark Gradison '85, and Mike Moore (father of Joe Moore '18). We enjoyed a tailgate with our fathers and a win over Georgia Southern. Also, Mark Shaffer (father of Patrick Shaffer '19) organized a fantastic golf outing with almost 80 players at Cascades on Friday afternoon. Brothers Recognized for Excellence Last April, our Chapter was evaluated by the Interfraternity Council. They ranked us based on risk management, recruitment, philanthropy, community service, and ritual. In the results, they placed Sigma Chi in the top tier along with three other fraternities. Alumni, Come Visit Bloomington! On October 14, we celebrated Homecoming with a game against University of Michigan. We were paired with Chi Omega and had a hog roast in the morning. Thank you to all the alumni who came to support us and have continued to support us over the years. We are truly grateful for this relationship.
