Published by your Alumni Board of Trustees and the House Corporation – Volume 19, Issue 1 DELTA CHI, THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA CHAPTER – FALL 2017 "A Membership for a Lifetime" Make a Tax-Deductible Donation For all of those who contributed to our last Capital Campaign, thank you. We would not have our state-of-the-art facilities without your support. If you made a pledge but have fallen behind on your payment schedule, we encourage you to catch up if and when you can. It is also not too late to make a tax-deductible contribution and add your name to those of other Alumni Capital Campaign leaders. A permanent plaque will be placed at the House in the near future recognizing those leaders once the original payment period for that campaign has ended. Send Us Your Recommendations Since the renovation and expansion, the primary purpose of the Delta Chi House Corporation is to oversee needed repairs and capital replacements, make payments on the mortgage through a combination of funds provided by Alumni and the Chapter and plan for future capital projects. If anyone has recommendations for improvements to the Chapter House or other questions or suggestions for our House Corporation, please contact one of the Board Members: Dwight Mixson '79 at dmixson@burr.com, Craig Hill '82 at 814chill@gmail.com or Bill Gullett '82 at bgullett@jsmithlanier.com. Fraternally, Dwight Mixson '79 President, House Corporation • dmixson@burr.com T he Chapter House completed its last major renovation and expansion just prior to the start of the 2014-2015 academic year, and the facilities have held up extremely well. If you have not been to the Chapter House since then, the facilities include greatly expanded dining and kitchen facilities currently serving over 125 Brothers, common space with several televisions and study areas, a pool table, a new party room, a basketball court, a large rear patio area and a combination of new and updated residential living units. On the Right Path Once again, we have full occupancy for this fall with 34 Brothers living in the House. is is one of several indications that the Chapter is on the right path. By combining the updated facilities, convenience of location and the opportunity to live, study and socialize with other Delta Chi Brothers, we compete favorably with the new dorms, apartments and condominiums that have literally changed the landscape of Tuscaloosa and e University. Our success in maintenance of the House and its full occupancy is in no small part due to the day-to-day oversight by our House Director, Debbie Kober, who does an outstanding job. We always welcome and encourage Alumni to visit whenever you are in Tuscaloosa and find your photo among the many composites decorating the dining area and upstairs halls. Major Renovations Achieved rough Alumni Support Continue to Support and Stay Involved With Delta Chi
