3 Beta Tau O n Bid Day this August, we were overjoyed to welcome 82 women with open arms! We celebrated with a baseball-themed event, complete with foam fingers, hot dogs, and shaved ice! Recruitment was also a huge success this year for our chapter and I am so proud of the dedication shown by members to continue our Beta Tau legacy. FULL FALL SEMESTER There are only fun times ahead as fall semester begins with a calendar packed full of events. Our Gainesville Walk to End Alzheimer's was held on October 21 as we continued taking steps to a world free of Alzheimer's disease. We will also be taking our sisterhood trip to Savannah, Georgia, this year, which we are so excited for! We will be strengthening our bonds with our new members and enjoying each other's company. $7,500 RAISED FOR SIGMA KAPPA FOUNDATION After an adventurous summer and exciting beginning to our fall semester, it is always heart-warming to look back on our Beta Tau Chapter's accomplishments of the year. Over the last academic year, Beta Tau raised more than $7,500 for the Sigma Kappa Foundation. We accomplished this in part by hosting a hugely successful fundraising event at the chapter house, Al'z You Can Eat, which was a buffet-style pasta bar. There was an amazing turnout from students, administrators, and organizations across campus, and even from some alumnae as well! It was a night to be remembered and we were delighted to welcome them into our home for such a wonderful cause. We also achieved this donation by leading fundraising initiatives on campus and by our members raising funds on their own time as well. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE Further, our chapter raised its overall grade point average to a 3.401 on a 4.0 grading scale! I am so proud of this amazing chapter's accomplishments so far this year and I know it will set the stage for even further growth in the coming months! Lastly, I would like to thank our wonderful Beta Tau alumnae for their always appreciated support. We're looking forward to seeing you at some of our events this year!
