The Renovation of Our
Chapter House Hinges on Your Support
Your Gift Is Needed (Really!) So Work Can Begin by December 18
H
ere is an update and I have good news. Eighty-seven generous brothers
of our 1,200 alumni have pledged $1.9 million, but our needs are still
great. We have until December 1 to raise an additional $400,000 to allow
renovation of our chapter house to begin on December 18. If we fail, the
next window to begin renovation is August 2018. Each dollar we raise
beyond $400,000 will allow us to reduce the $1.6 million 20-year debt
required for this 3.7 million construction project.
The campaign directors have reduced the minimum pledge amount eligible
for 100% tax deductibility from $50,000 to $40,000. Your pledge of
$40,000 or more—or increasing your pledge to $40,000—will qualify it
for 100% tax deductibility. Brother John Seitzer '88 has put together an
analysis of the potential significant tax advantages available to you when
you contribute. See page 3.
Over the next few months, we need to work to obtain every pledge
possible. Simply put, we have a goal that we must meet. Without further
support, we will not be able to begin our renovation on time. It's not
complicated; it just requires a commitment from every brother now.
Brothers, in August, you received a folder of information about the active
and alumni chapters' changes and the chapter house renovation plans. If
you have yet to make a gift, please use the enclosed pledge card to make
your first-time pledge, pledge increase, or one-time cash gift today. If you
misplaced your pledge form or have not received one, please contact our
campaign coordinator Allison Mazzei at amazzei@penningtonco.com.
The clock is ticking until December 1. We need your support now!
