"e financial assistance Oregon Alpha's alumni association has given me has served first to ease the ever-increasing burden of higher education on my family and I, and secondly allowed me to focus on my responsibilities as both a student and brother of the chapter. e generous endowments from our alumni network allowed me to pursue research opportunities within Geller Labs and to focus on my academics. In short, Oregon Alpha's alumni scholarships allowed me to make the most of my education here at Oregon State and have helped make me a more balanced man." – Victor M. Tran '12 the ImpACt Our sChOlArshIps Are mAkIng "e summer aer my freshman year, I planned on staying in Corvallis, living in the house, and taking a class. I'm paying my way through college, though, so it posed a serious question as to how I was going to pay for that. I then learned about the scholarships offered by Oregon Alpha. rough the scholarship I received, I was able to pay my way through the whole summer, including rent and class. Because of this, I didn't have to worry about finding a job to squeeze into my schedule, and instead volunteered in a research lab all summer. With the help of that experience, I was able to secure an internship that summer. It would not have been possible if not for that scholarship. It really had a profound impact on my life, and I'm truly grateful for the alumni willing to donate money to help younger brothers like myself try and figure out what we want to do with our lives. A little bit goes a long way and it has just proven to be another benefit of becoming a member of this incredible brotherhood." – Wesley Johnston '18 3
