LeAdeRshiP RecOgNitiON ceRemONy On October 3, 2016, the Alpha Chi Omega Educational Corporation hosted its annual leadership and scholarship recognition ceremony to identify and honor collegians who exhibit academic and leadership success. More than 40 Alpha Chis were recognized this year. Many of the recognized collegians are either on the honor roll or Dean's List of their college. Each collegian is recognized by the Educational Corporation as a woman who brings knowledge to the solution of her own problems, and passes on the light of knowledge from generation to generation. Currently, the chapter has a GPA of 3.3, which places us in 11th place against Panhellenic chapters, and 18th among all Greek chapters. The 17 collegians below were recognized for outstanding scholarship by having a 4.0 GPA. Each scholar was given an Alpha Chi Scholar decal to place on her door or vehicle. sydni haack '15 | Allison haindfield '13 Rachel ibach '14 | chloe Jenkins '14 mcKenna Kime '15 | madison Lawler '15 Abigail Lewis '15 | danielle moore '15 Jennifer Pitsch '15 | savannah Rave '14 carly sandstedt '15 | emma sheridan '15 Rebekah strotman '13 | taylor trout '15 taylor uhlir '14 | Katie Ward '15 madison Warrick '13 Congratulations to all Xi members recognized for this honor! Loyally, denise mcLain '81 Xi Chapter Educational Corporation President denise_mclain@gallup.com FALL Last fall, Alpha Chi Omega recruited 56 fabulous new members. Our new members participated in initiation, big/little reveal, and began to run for cabinet positions before beginning the spring semester. We are delighted to know that the new member class of 2016 is finding its way and becoming great leaders of Xi Chapter. Our fall semester was also filled with great accomplishments. The members of Xi Chapter raised money for the Friendship Home through Bubble Ball, a fun philanthropic event where each Alpha Chi can coach a team of her choosing to compete in the Bubble Ball tournament. Our members continued to volunteer at the Friendship Home and work toward spreading domestic violence awareness on campus. We also participated in Walk A Mile, and were partnered with the men of Delta Tau Delta. Together, we walked a mile in high heels to raise awareness on campus. On a scholarly note, we awarded scholarships to many of our outstanding sisters this fall for their academic achievements thanks to denise mcLain '81 and the Educational Corporation. Our members continue to work hard in hopes of raising our GPA this spring. sPRiNg Our chapter participated in our second annual Alumni/Daughter Day on February 26. We enjoyed meeting the wonderful legacies and honorary members who will go through primary recruitment in the future. As always, we appreciate the letters of recommendation written in favor of all our potential new members. Our members are gearing up for The Big Event, Relay for Life, and other campus-wide events. Our chapter hosted Raising the Roof on March 30, and was very pleased with the large turnout. Our spring philanthropy helps us to raise the most money for the Friendship Home, so we are happy to give back as much as possible. Xi Chapter also participated in Greek Preview on March 6, and is preparing for primary recruitment this fall through workshops and recruitment retreats. As always, we are striving to seek new heights together and can't wait for another new member class in the fall of 2017!
