GFB Chapter eternal Ruth Aufenkamp '44 entered Chapter Eternal on January 30, 2016, in Lincoln. She was a kindergarten teacher in Colorado Springs, Colo., for 35 years. Following her retirement, she returned to Nebraska to live near her parents in Wahoo, where she remained for the rest of her life. She was a longtime member of Wahoo First United Methodist Church and played a vital role with the Prayer Tree. Shirley Rutt McLane '55 entered Chapter Eternal on August 21, 2016, in Granbury, Texas. On October 24, 1959, she married Gerald Donovan McLane, and they were blessed with two children, Lori and Scott, four granddaughters, and a great- granddaughter. She was a registered nurse at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital and coordinator of the Red Cross Bloodmobile for numerous years. In addition, she was co-owner of McLane Jewelry.
