I
t has been an awesome year at 415 N. 16th
Street! We have a full house and full hearts. At a
recent facilities management conference, International
Council President Annabel Jones, University of
Oklahoma '73 spoke about how she will always call her
chapter house at the University of Oklahoma "home."
I think many of us feel the same about the red brick
walls and white columns at the University of Nebraska.
My time living at Pi Chapter includes memories of
"4-man" on the third floor, studying on sunny days on
the rooftop deck, watching Friends in the tube room
on Thursday nights, and doing my makeup in front of
the hallway mirrors on a Friday evening. The chapter
house has certainly changed in the years that have
passed, but its place in my heart endures. I invite each
of you to take a trip down memory lane and write, call,
e-mail, text, or snapchat one of your sisters about all
those funny and special moments that come to mind.
Here is an update of our milestones during the past
couple years and what we look forward to this year:
• We celebrated our centennial in 2015.
• We paid off our mortgage and became debt
free in 2016.
• We are poised to complete a beautiful
living room remodel in 2017.
The current collegians are so thankful for the
chapter house where they live, study, bond,
grow, and thrive. We welcomed a new house
director in the fall, so if you stop by, be sure
to introduce yourself to Tracie Diehl. Affiliated
House Corporation's mission is to take
excellent care of the home we all remember
and make it a place that future generations of sisters will also
lovingly call home.
We would like to refinish the piano, and any donations to that
project specifically are welcome. So far, we have raised 2
percent of the refurbishing cost. Many of us enjoyed the musical
talent of our members throughout the years, and we hope that
tradition lasts.
