Leininger was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. As a child, she pretended to deliver babies. Now, as a mother herself, she brings valuable per- spective to family practice because she is also an OB. Leininger received her doctorofosteopathydegree from Touro University Col- lege of Osteopathic Med- icine, and completed her residency at Mercy Medi- cal Center in Redding. Her fellowship, in Family Med- icine and Obstetrics, was completed at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. She bringsheruniquecombina- tion of skills to families in the North State. "When I was a child, I was always drawn to preg- nant women, wanting to help," Leininger said. "And I wanted to help the babies, too. A mentor showed me I could do both — deliver babies and treat kids and families. Being able to take care of the whole family, from pregnancy to delivery and then beyond means so much to me. Now that I'm a mother, I feel I can give more accurate, and real life advice, because I've been pregnant and now have a family that needs care."
