We instituted an Academic Mentoring Council (AMC) to facilitate and ease the transition from high school to college for our freshman class and to offer a chance for additional intragrade interaction. The AMC is composed of members from the sophomore, junior, and senior pledge classes with different majors who have excelled academically in their time at UT. We also established a Standards Board with members from every pledge class. The idea behind this group is not one of punishment, but one of accountability and camaraderie. Members of the Standards Board are tasked with going the extra mile and making sure their pledge brothers aren't getting too distracted with unimportant things and are committed to their academic pursuits and remaining involved in extracurricular activities. We have another exciting semester planned this spring. Our annual dodgeball tournament will benefit the Lone Star Paralysis Fund, and we will host a country concert featuring Parker McCollum, a spring Parent's Weekend, and our signature safari party. The men of Texas Alpha are euphoric with the success of the chapter, and we look forward to the continual refining of our culture of success. Because of our chapter's unparalleled leadership, involvement, scholarship, and loyal alumni support, we will undoubtedly remain the most elite fraternity on UT's campus for years to come. Thank you for your support, as none of the chapter's success would be possible without your generosity. Please contact me at any time with questions or suggestions for our chapter.
