Five Questions for Tom Hicks '68, Founders' Day Honoree What stands out to you from your time as an active member in SigEp? I made a number of lifelong friends who have enriched my life. As you look back on your career, what are the moments that mean the most to you? Being mentored in life by brothers and reversing the roles as the years have gone by. How do you think SigEp helped you become who you are today? I became a leader while I was a SigEp active. The older brothers gave me the confidence that I could lead. How have Texas Alpha brothers been a part of your life since college? I have stayed close friends with maybe 10 brothers, and half of those are my closest friends today. What does it mean to you to receive Texas Alpha's Emeritus Service Award? I am honored to be recognized by my peers. Tom has two brothers, Steve '72 and Bill '76, and a son, Bradley '08, who all were members of Texas Alpha. Tom is chairman and CEO of Hicks Holdings. He and his wife, Cinda, live in Dallas. chapter eternal Stanley H. "Hugh" Christianson '47 entered Chapter Eternal on August 5, 2016. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for two years and the University of Houston, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in geology and a bachelor of science degree in petroleum engineering, specializing in oil and gas reservoir engineering and graduating at the top of his class. He was employed as a petroleum engineer with Atlantic Refining Company and successor ARCO Oil and Gas Company from 1954 to retirement in 1985. He met his wife, Louise (Burton), at Sunday school in Midland, where they were married on August 18, 1956. He was regarded as a man of integrity, a pleasant, even-tempered person of deep personal faith, and a wonderful husband and father. Hugh is survived by Louise, daughter Holly, son Eric, grandsons Aaron and Eric Jr., granddaughter Joy, and niece Carole. aluMni news Jack D. Blanton '53 reports that his wife, Nancy, passed away in March 2016. They have two children, Keith and Karen. Jack is a "kinda retired" real estate broker and lives in Princeville, Hawaii. He took a 30-day driving trip to see places and people he hasn't seen for 60 years. He enjoyed visiting the chapter house. "A pledge was very nice and showed me around. I was very impressed. Holloway '75 and his wife live in Franklin, Tenn., and celebrated their 40th anniversary in July 2016. They have five children and 15 grandchildren.
