Ontheair trytoone, getanybodyelse sick, two, push my body past the limits it was al- ready at and try to play that night," Curry said af- ter Wednesday morning's shootaround. "It was a re- ally boring night at the hotel watching the game. Couldn't even watch our own broadcast, which sucked. No offense to the Portland people." Already down big man David West, Golden State's frontcourt is short-handed. "Nooothing easy," Curry groaned, rubbing his eyes several times when told of Pachulia's status. "Next man up. Obviously those two guys are important parts of what we do. ... Just like when I was out, we found a way to get it done. We need to do that and have obviously a phys- ical presence and continue to rebound at a high level while he's out." West was scheduled to have a follow-up X-ray later Wednesday on a non- displaced fracture of his left thumb suffered Jan. 18 against Oklahoma City. James Michael McAdoo had eight points, seven re- bounds and two blocks in 20 minutes of last Wednes- day's 10-point win at Char- lotte and could be an op- tion, along with JaVale McGee, Damian Jones and Anderson Varejao. Warriors coach Steve Kerr was named West- ern Conference Coach of the Month for January after Golden State went an NBA-best 12-2 for the month. Warriors FROM PAGE 1 said. "We have been very transparent about what we think the violation was. We went through a lengthy process. We disagree about that. ... I'm not afraid of disagreement. And I don't think disagreement leads to distrust or hatred." Kraft was among the very few owners who at- tended the news confer- ence, but he ducked out quickly afterward without taking questions. Goodell also faced a number of questions on the Chargers' recent move from San Diego to Los An- geles: "Relocations are painful," he said. Of this week's news re- ports that San Diego could end up as a home for the Raiders if Las Vegas falls through, Goodell cited a "history of markets that get deals done after a team leaves. It's a painful way to doit."Amongthosemarkets are Cleveland, St. Louis, Los Angeles and this year's Su- per Bowl host, Houston. On other topics: • Goodell said no time- line had been set on an in- vestigation into alleged do- mestic abuse by Cowboys running back Ezekiel El- liott. He said there's an ac- tive investigation into for- mer Giants kicker Josh Brown and no decision has been made about his status. • About loosening re- strictions on marijuana use, Goodell essentially ignored the question and said he wants to include that topic in negotiations with the players' union. • The commissioner de- fended widely derided and often non-competitive weekly games on Thursday nights and said they'd re- main part of the schedule. • He fielded no questions about concussions or pro- tecting quarterbacks, even though both remained hot topics all season. • In the wake of a TV ratings decline, the league will keep looking into ways to decrease the amount of dead time during games. • Probed a few times on the travel ban and other de- cisions made recently by President Donald Trump, Goodell refused to wade in, saying he's 100 percent focused on the Super Bowl. "We're in a unique position to have an event on Sunday that will bring the world together," he said. Goodell also announced the NFL would return to Mexico City next year for a game pitting — who else? — the Raiders and the Pa- triots. If the commissioner meets up with Kraft there or on Sunday, he insists ev- erything will be just fine.
