Wi ll S im s ha s charge dismissed The Blue Room Theatre will perform "Dracula" based on Bram Stoker's dark tale with a fast-mov- ing adaptation that tells the story of Dracula's ultimate demise. Auditions will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Blue Room Theatre, 139 W. First St., in Chico. Kids and teens, ages 6 to 17 are invited. The auditions are to fit each child to the best indi- vidual role, but all children will be cast. Children and teens should come to audi- tions prepared with a brief monologue, story or joke prepared to tell. Cold read- ings from the script and some improvisation will be included. Rehearsals will begin 3:30-6 p.m Jan. 31 and take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as se- lected Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Dracula will run at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 7; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8 with a pizza party in between, and 2 p.m. Sunday April 9 at The Blue Room Theatre. In addition to the digi- tization and protection of recordings the Society is launching a project to re- cord and preserve oral his- tories for the future. Assist State Route 36W, cross of McCoy Road: Tehama County Sheriff's logs show a report of an assist about 9p.m. Friday in which the driver reportedly appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was biting the window and jumping into traffic. Crashes Basler Road, west of Hooker Creek Road: Jeffrey Simmerson, 57, of Cottonwood received minor injuries in a crash about 3:40 p.m. Thursday. Simmerson was driving east on Basler Road when he allowed the vehicle to run off the road where it hit a power pole and fence. He was arrested and booked into jail on the charge of suspicion of DUI.
