t his summer, at the Alpha Chi Omega National Convention, the Alpha Beta Chapter received the National Council Trophy! It was such a humbling moment to accept the prestigious award that our previous executive board and chapter members worked extremely hard for. This trophy is now on display in our chapter facility for everyone to enjoy. And it was wonderful to be present for the election of our newly elected Alpha Chi Omega National president and Alpha Beta sister, Angela Costley Harris '86! Angela has been a committed member to our chapter through various roles over the years and dedicated to our sisterhood. We are excited to see where she will lead us in the years to come. SuCCeSSFuL eveNTS THiS FALL During Purdue's Homecoming, several alumnae visited the chapter and were able to see the National Council Trophy and see our chapter's newly renovated basement. It was exciting to see former residents admire the renovations and learn about our centennial campaign. Founder's Day was a success this year at the Alpha Beta Chapter. We hosted a formal dinner at our home for current members and alumnae. Everyone was able to share stories and make new connections. It was great to see past and present members bonding over our sisterhood. FALL PHiLANTHROPy FuN One major topic we always discuss during fall recruitment is domestic violence awareness. All of us are passionate in one way or another for this philanthropy, and it shines through as women recruit. This year, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, we hosted "These Hands Donut Hurt" for our fall philanthropic event. Our chapter sold donuts and Alpha Chi buttons to raise money for our local YWCA facility. We also hosted "Pumpkin Pie with Alpha Chi" and members invited a guest to our home to enjoy pumpkin pie! All of our profits, again, were given to our local YWCA. WeLCOMe, 39 SiSTeRS Our chapter had a very successful recruitment and recently initiated 39 members into our sisterhood. We are very proud and honored to welcome these women as sisters and members of the Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega. I know we will continue to be successful and continue to seek the heights at Alpha Beta!
