The website address will remain as www.fcpr.us, but new features will be immediately noticeable. Key features of the new website include: Mobile and tablet friendly Ease of navigation for programs and activities The ability to easily find information on facility amenities A new and constantly updated calendar of events Seamless transition from the City's website to the Parks & Recreation website. The Parks & Recreation website was re-designed as part of an overall City website redesign, which has seen the launch of a new City website and integration of department webpages, including the Fire and Police departments.The purpose of the City website redesign was for the City to improve the way it presents information to its citizens. The City website's fresh new look and great new features were recognized by the North Carolina City-County Communicators (NC3C) organization by naming the Fayetteville website one of the best in the state during its 2016 awards session. Real Solutions Community Meeting Dec. 13 Fayetteville residents are invited to attend the Real Solutions Community Meeting hosted by Mayor Pro Tem Mitch Colvin, Council Member Chalmers McDougald and Council Member Kirk deViere on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1217 Murchison Road. The meeting is a follow-up session to the Real Talk Meeting held Tuesday, Aug. 23 at Kingdom Impact Global Ministries. The series of meetings are designed to identify issues directly affecting residents and to develop sustainable solutions. Facilitators will lead a focus group for each of the following areas: Economic development Beautification/code enforcement The next generation of leaders for the community Residents are encouraged to attend, and to pre-register by Dec. 9 with Nathan Walls (nwalls@ci.fay.nc.us) for the event to allow City staff to properly plan for accommodating residents. All residents are welcome to attend, regardless of whether they register in advance. Christmas in the Park Dec. 7-21 Christmas in the Park is celebrated at Arnette Park, a beautiful combination of developed facilities and natural woodland spanning 100 acres adjacent to the Cape Fear River. Bring your family and friends for a leisurely stroll on a ½ mile paved walking trail while taking in the sights and sounds of the Christmas season. You'll enjoy entertainment provided by local artists, roast marshmallows at the fire pit and get creative at the craft station. Relax and watch some of your favorite holiday movies on the outdoor movie screen and take a ride on the Christmas Express train. Don't forget to stop by and visit with Santa!
