6 I am incredibly honored and blessed to be serving as chief executive officer of the Gamma Phi Chapter for 2016. Theta has my heart, so this opportunity means the world to me. My term as CEO has almost come to an end and I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. I have been proud to stand by my fellow officers throughout this year. Our visions for the chapter are the same and have allowed us to accomplish goals and be enthusiastic leaders throughout the year. The Gamma Phi Chapter welcomed 71 new members after a successful recruitment led by Amelia Milton '13, chief recruiting officer. They are all wonderful women who will represent Theta well in all they do. The member class of 2016 was initiated on October 8 and we are happy to call them our Theta sisters. Our service director, Natasha Ceaser '13, has planned our signature fundraising event for the fall called Thetasgiving. It will take place November 14-17. There will be an event to raise money for CASA of the South Plains every night. We would love to invite everyone to participate! The grand opening of our beautiful new lodge was August 6. The chapter cannot thank the generous donors, Capital Campaign and Renovation Committees, Facility Corporation Board, and many others enough for their continuous efforts and passion toward this project. The lodge has been everything we've dreamed of and is being utilized with the utmost respect and pride. As we progress in this fall semester, we will strive to live up to the values and ideals of Kappa Alpha Theta. This is an incredible group of women who work to achieve academically, socially, and philanthropically. I am grateful to call these women my sisters and look forward to what the future holds for our members and chapter.
