fter a year of construction, the Chi Psi
annex project is complete, and the 15
upperclassmen moved in during August.
This event was the culmination of six years of
planning, fundraising, design, and construction that
began with a discussion at the National Convention
at the Lodge in August 2010.
I am pleased with how the annex works with the
Lodge to create a compound of buildings around
the court. It also greatly improves the northwest
corner of the property.
Installation of a new combination basketball/
volleyball assembly occurred in mid-October and
is followed by respective striping for each game.
I want to give special thanks to Mike Mullen '92
for his financial management; Kent Smith '90 for
his coordination with the neighbors and actives; and
to the sub-committee members, John Blacksmith
'89, Don Rowe '60, and Andrew Sahl '13, for
their reviews, input, and recommendations.

O
ur brother, Dave Nordfors '59,
deserves our gratitude and heartfelt
thanks for his extraordinary efforts to
make the new annex a reality. He developed
the initial design concept and collaborated with
Schemata Workshop Architects to reach the
final design we see today. Dave worked with
Carlisle Classic Homes, our building contractor,
to get city building permits and utility hookups.
He attended numerous planning meetings
and continually kept up with the details of
construction. Dave was instrumental in getting
occupancy on August 15, as was originally
planned. That accomplishment is almost
unheard of in construction.
On behalf of the entire membership of Alpha
Theta Delta, we express our sincerest gratitude
for a job well done. The annex will be used and
appreciated for many years to come. Thank
you, Dave.
