THE NU'S 2 Χ Ω Alumna Celebrates Three Generations of Chi Omega Donna Boswell LaFrazia '57 Shares ΧΩ with Daughter, Granddaughter D onna Boswell LaFrazia '57 first discovered Chi Omega through the aunt of a childhood playmate in Peoria, Ill. "Auntie Marg" was a teacher and Chi Omega alumna who spent many hours keeping the children busy on summer adventures. Years later, when Donna enrolled at the University of Wisconsin, she chose to go through recruitment and Nu Chapter was at the top of her list. "Being initiated in 1957 and living in the Chapter House for three years, I developed lifetime friendships. The high standards of scholarship, community service, and loyalty to Chi Omega values have shaped my lifetime experiences." As an alumna, Donna has enjoyed reunions with her pledge sisters and kept in contact with many of them. As a mother and grandmother, she sang the Chi Omega Lullaby to her daughters and granddaughters when they were babies. Consequently, her oldest daughter, Susan LaFrazia Lindquist, Oregon State '86, and her granddaughter, Hannah LaFrazia, Arizona State '16, joined Chi Omega as well. Donna used her occupational therapy degree to lead a very satisfying career. For the last 10 years before her retirement, she was a consultant for Portland Public Schools, where she participated in the inclusion of students, regardless of their abilities. She also supervised several occupational therapy graduates for their pediatric clinical training. Now that she has retired, Donna enjoys traveling the world, volunteering, watercolor painting, and spending quality time with her family and friends. She has also had the chance to return to the Chapter House several times throughout the years. "Our 100th anniversary celebration was most memorable with the reunion of so many sisters," she said. "Chi Omega has given me and my family wonderful memories, friendship, and ideals." Donna and her husband, George, have been married for 55 years, living most of those years in the Pacific Northwest. They have four grown children: Susan, Andy, Geoffrey, and Stacey. All four are married and they have given Donna and George five grandsons and two granddaughters, ages 14 to 22. Donna lives in Vancouver, Wash., and can be reached at dj.lafrazia@gmail.com.
