E-mail: r.carrington@comcast.net W e had a great year at Alpha Delta Phi International, capped with the annual convention in Washington, D.C., in August. The Washington Chapter distinguished itself by winning the EO Blackman Most Outstanding Chapter award. With the addition of Steve Eggerman '82 to the Board of Governors and my appointment to vice president, we will have even more Washington Chapter influence this year. My goals on the board include: improved management practices, stronger financial management, improved membership communication, and increased western expansion. Changes in Management Starting with management practices, we hired a new Executive Director, Steve Ehrfurth, Minnesota '06, to oversee administration of the International Office and chapter service consultants. Steve has done an outstanding job of implementing new membership communication and chapter evaluation processes. Steve coordinated the implementation of our new membership database, OmegaFi Compass, that went live in September. Additionally, to improve financial management, we launched a new billing and collection program, OmegaFi Vault. Vault enables chapters to manage undergraduate member billing fees and to pay all vendors through a single program. The Washington Chapter installed Vault two years ago and served as a proof source and best practice for the International. Visit www.alphadeltaphi.org and Xaipe Connect To improve membership communication, we launched a new website in May and Xaipe Connect in September. Xaipe Connect is a self- service membership portal designed to enable all undergraduate and alumni members to update personal information, view a calendar of events, and search for other brothers. I would encourage everyone to create their own Xaipe Connect account and encourage your classmates to do the same. Go to www.alphadeltaphi.org and click on the Xaipe Connect, Get Access button. If you have any challenges with registration, contact Steve Ehrfurth at (508) 226-1832 or steve.ehrfurth@alphadeltaphi. org. Our goal is to get current contact information on all brothers. Welcoming New Alpha Delta Phi Affiliates Finally, I am pleased to report our new Rocky Mountain affiliate at the University of Colorado had a very strong recruitment, adding 11 new members for a total of 27. A core group of Alpha Delt alumni living in the Denver area have formed to support our new affiliate at CU. At the recent Board of Governors meeting in St. Louis, we approved affiliate status for an impressive group of nine men at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. The demand for Greek life is growing nationwide. We get requests for information almost monthly. Many of our new affiliates start with Alpha Delt legacies that don't find the right fraternity fit at their chosen school. If you have a son, grandson, or nephew who is interested in starting a chapter of Alpha Delta Phi, please contact me at the number below.
