The speedy relay team of Brandt, Brandt, Fletcher and Jordan Munoz fin- ished the season by knock- ing four seconds off of their previous school record (1:53.67) in the 200 Free- style Relay, bringing home a bronze medal by a mere .03 seconds. Julia Brandt, who was the anchor leg, entered the water a full body length behind Or- land's Sheridan Mullen. In the end Brandt caught Mul- len and out touched her to bring the hardware home with a time of 1:49.55. In the 200 Medley Re- lay the Spartans missed a bronze medal by .24 sec- onds, but beat their previ- ous record of 2:04.51 with a new time of 2:01.84 and a fourth place finish. Both Julia and Jayne Brandt were named to the First Team All-Section Team and Ellie Fletcher earned All-Section Honor- able Mention honors. The Spartans boys en- joyed success as well. Freshman Jaxon Balken finished 3rd in the 200IM with a fast time of 2:08.19 and placed 6th in the 100 Butterfly (58.57). Holiday Rider made his way into the Spartans record book swimming the 8th fastest time in Red Bluff's history with a 1:03.15 in the 100 Backstroke which placed him 9th. In the 200 Free- style Rider finished 9th with a time of 2:07.29. Senior Jacob Patterson finished his career with an 11th place in the 100 Breast- stroke (1:12.13). Nathan Fregoso, also a senior, was 14th in the 100 Backstroke (1:07.67). Quinn Rosser placed 14th in the 50 Free- style (25.15). The relay team of Balken, Rider, Fregoso and Patterson improved their times in both the 200 Freestyle Relay and the 200 Medley Relay. In the 200 Freestyle relay the boys knocked off three sec- onds going 1:41.91 and fin- ishing in 4th place. In the 200 Medley relay they im- proved by a second going 1:54.69 and finishing in 7th place. Balken was selected to the Second Team All- Section Team and Rider earned All-Section Honor- able Mention honors. This meet ended the Spartans successful season.
