The first will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 hosted by the Resource Conservation District of Tehama County at the chamber office, 1110 So- lano St. This will be an opportunity to learn about energy conservation, how to save money and receive rebates. There will be an opportunity drawing as well. The second event will be an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony 4:30-7 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Red- ding Bank of Commerce, 1222 Solano St. Food and drinks will be provided. Don't forget to bring your business cards and a raf- fle item, if you so choose. Yard and bake sale The Maywood Women's Club is holding its Fall Yard and Bake Sale 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Sat- urday, Nov. 4 and 5 at the Maywood Women's Club, 902 Marin St. This is a rain or shine event. Items to be sold in- clude housewares, clothes and toys. Book sale The Friends of the Li- brary are having a Li- brary Book Sale 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Corning Library, 740 3rd St. In addition to the hun- dreds of books for sale, there will be tote bags available for $2 each and a raffle. Cost for raffle tick- ets is $1 each and includes items such as quilts, local art work and homemade fudge. During this season of harvest and giving thanks Lucero Olive Oil is recognizing veterans and farmers. The Farmer Veteran Co- alition was organized in 2008 because of a report in 2006 showing that "ru- ralfamiliesarepayingadis- proportionately high price for the wars in Iraq and Af- ghanistan,"thereportdem- onstrateshowsoldiersfrom ruralareasarelinkedtothe higher rate of enlistment of young adults because of the diminished opportuni- ties in rural America. The Farmer Veteran Coalition now helps more than 250 veterans looking to find their path into an agricul- tural career each month. Lucero reached out to the Farmer Veteran Coali- tion in 2015 to support vet- erans who are looking to fulfill their lives in agri- culture. The company reported net income of $332,000 for the three months ended Sept. 30 compared to net income of $360,000 for the same period last year. Diluted earnings per share were $0.25 for the three months compared to $0.27 for the same period last year. Net income for the nine months ended Sept. 30 was $896,000, or $0.67 per di- luted share compared to net income of $774,000, or $0.58 per diluted share, for the nine months ended Sept. 30, 2015. The return on average assets for the three months ended Sept. 30 was 0.70% and the return on average equity was 8.58%. For the nine months ended Sept. 30 the return on average as- sets was 0.66% and the re- turn on average equity was 7.86%.
