Philanthropy Elaina Latimer '13 Overland Park, Kan. new school year has started and we are ready for what the fall semester has in store for Gamma Zeta. We started the semester with a fun polish week and incredibly successful recruitment. We are excited to welcome these ladies into our sisterhood and to enjoy many fun activities planned throughout the semester together. This fall will include several events for us, including Dad's Weekend, Homecoming, and initiation! SiSTERHOOD This September, Gamma Zeta hosted a sisterhood retreat at Camp Wood for a weekend getaway to strengthen our bonds. Vice President of Membership Programming Elle McAlister '14 and Tori Wiegers '14 planned the event for months and we couldn't wait to see it come to fruition. RECRuiTMENT Our chapter welcomed 47 new members into Alpha Chi Omega this fall. We had a blast during polish and recruitment week and Vice President of Recruitment Jordan Stuckey '13 did a great job helping us prepare for recruitment. A highlight from the week was having a slip-n- slide in our backyard, but the best part was finally seeing our new members run to us on Bid Night. We turned the house into a galaxy- themed event and danced the night away. PHiLANTHROPY During recruitment, the chapter made gift bags to donate to the Crisis Center Inc., in Manhattan. We loved getting to share this cause that is close to our hearts with the potential new members throughout recruitment and we look forward to further showing our new sisters the importance of our philanthropy. Come stop by the chapter house this fall if you are in town to cheer on the Wildcats! We look forward to hearing from you.
