Red Bluff reached the Distrct 1 championship on a win against South Siskiyou 7-4 on Wednesday. Because Red Bluff had one loss going into the final, they will face East Redding again at 7 p.m., tonight at Cald- well Park in Redding. Red Bluff 's Tristan Hobart hit a three-run inside-the-park home run in the top of the sixth inning to give the lead and ultimately the win. Andrews, who grew up with Crisp in Southern California, began using the outfielder's Ameri- can Express card without his knowledge in November 2010. Over the course of the next three months, Andrews received more than $25,000 in gift cards by tapping Crisp's account. He also obtained $4,000 in gift checks that were earned by redeem- ing rewards points on the credit card account. It wasn't until Crisp's wife noticed the pur- chase of a shotgun and a 9mm handgun on their statement did the couple realize someone was fraudulently using their credit card, said Assis- tant U.S. Attorney Nicholas Pilgrim. ''Marcus Andrews had a passion for guns,'' Pilgrim said. Andrews attempted to spend another $30,000 using Crisp's credit card but the charges were declined, authorities said. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's MCT file photo A woman accused Pablo Sandoval of sexual assault. Office completed its investigation Thursday and forwarded the case to the district attorney's office. No charges are expected. A 21-year-old woman who lives in Santa Cruz County filed a sexual assault complaint against the All-Star third baseman June 1. The woman told investigators she met a small group of people in downtown Santa Cruz and went to a resort in nearby Aptos, where she said she was assaulted. Sandoval's attorney, Eric Geffon, had previously called the encounter a ''consensual, personal relationship of a sexual nature.'' In a statement released Thursday, Geffon said: ''The Sheriff's Department has completed a thorough and professional investigation and we are pleased that they have concluded that there is insufficient evidence to support an arrest.
