Aaron Neville to Perform as Part of Fayetteville 250 at Arts Council's International Folk Festival
As part of the City of Fayetteville's 250th Anniversary Celebration and in partnership with the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County, national recording artist Aaron Neville will perform on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 29th at Festival Park during the International Folk Festival.
With the release of his most recent album, "I Know I've Been Changed," Neville is celebrating 50 years in recorded music.
Neville has won numerous Grammy Awards, has been nominated for multiple Grammy, Big Easy and Rolling Stone Critics' Poll awards and also been nominated for a Dove Award. He won Grammys for "Don't Know Much," "All My Life" and "I Fall to Pieces." "Don't Know Much" reached million-selling gold status and the album it was released on, Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind, went triple platinum for sales of more than three million.
His 1991 cover "Everybody Plays the Fool" reached No. 8 on the Hot 100 in the U.S.
He is also well known for singing the national anthem at sporting events, including at Super Bowl XL alongside Aretha Franklin.
