The grant provides 90 per- cent of the project's fund- ing. Another 5.5 percent, or $33,539, of the construction cost will be funded by the city's Airport Services Rev- enue. This project is to reha- bilitate the pavement of the runway, according to the project's description. This will be accomplished with a combination of mill- ing and asphalt overlay of the pavement in the south- ern 1,450 feet of the runway and placing a sealed coat on the remainder of the run- way pavement. Parker said the new air- port restaurant, Leigh and Val's Wings and Wheels, has been bringing in more flights and business, so the runway is in need of im- provements. The project is expected to take 45 days of construction and 17 days of full-time con- struction observation. At a previous council meeting, the staff and coun- cil expressed willingness to work with airport represen- tatives and pilots as they said the summer months through October are their busiest of year. Parker said at that meet- ing that waiting until this busy period was over was not a problem for the coun- cil and the staff. Airport FROM PAGE 1 each individual and those who vote electronically with the machine's as- sistance will have marks placed on the ballot op- tion of their choice that will not be distinguish- able from that of a person doing it, Parkinson said. No longer will blue- or black-ink pens be re- quired, but a Sharpie marker can be used to mark the ballot. Ballots can be placed into the machine upside down and backward and still be readable by the machine. The machine will have a precinct tabulator that goes on a memory card that will then be trans- ported to the election de- partment following clo- sure of polls. Voting FROM PAGE 1 TODAYINHISTORY LOTTERY Etheridge slams Angelina Jolie Angelina Jolie is not Melissa Etheridge's favorite person. Appearing on "Andy Cohen Live" on Tuesday, Etheridge criticized how Jolie is going about her ongoing divorce drama with Brad Pitt. "It breaks my heart that anyone would take something as personal as your marriage and your relationship and your rights to your children and do it as purposefully as I see it's being done, because there's a way to be," said Etheridge. Etheridge isn't exactly objective. She sang at Pitt's wedding to Jennifer Aniston. They're close enough that she asked him to be a sperm donor, according to E!
