deltA psi news 6 AlumnAe news Carolyn Pope Calvert '53 moved to Houston in 1981, where her husband retired from Phillips Petroleum. Carolyn is active in many church groups, president of a local garden club, and active in a petroleum engineering wives club. E-mail: cccalvert@sbcglobal.net Brentie Thompson Stuart '53 is a widow living in an apartment close to her daughter in Kemah, Texas, and has adjusted smoothly to a new time in her life in a new area. Email: jkkn@att.net Daisy Holly Martin '54 sold her house and moved to a single-building, independent-living retirement community after her husband passed in May 2013. In August 2013, she fell and injured her neck, and after corrective surgery, she lived in rehab hospitals for four months. During her time in the hospital, she learned to do everything again, from sitting up to walking with a walker. She is happy to share that her doctor said her recovery was nothing short of "miraculous" and that she has much to be grateful for. Daisy resides in Norman, Okla. Karen Campbell Asimos '55 enjoys getting together with members of the 1955 pledge class each year. Karen spends winters at her condo in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She also enjoys traveling. Her last two trips were a cruise of the Danube River and enjoying the sunshine of Tahiti and Bora Bora. E-mail: hfandhj@sbcglobal.net Wanda Jennings Martin '55 and her husband, Byron, along with daughters, Robin Martin Thomas and LeAnn Martin Grantham, have traveled extensively all over the world, but they have definitely slowed down in their "latter years!" Wanda and Byron reside in Lubbock, Texas. Margaret Stewart Toliver '55 recently published a short story, Long and Short of It, and a poetry book, Musing, which are available on Amazon.com under Books, Oleta Stewart Toliver. She resides in Brownfield, Texas. Eleanor Forgey Glazener '56 planned the 60th reunion for the Canadian, Texas, class of 1955. Eleanor lives in Amarillo, Texas. E-mail: elglazener@aol.com Peggy Brown Hamm '56 teaches in Albuquerque, N.M., where she married Ron. She has since traveled to different locations in the U.S., as well as to South America and Europe. Peggy Condray Thomas '56 is happy to have re-connected with her pledge sister, Ella Jo Covington Chote '56. They periodically play bridge in the same groups. Peggy resides in Fort Worth. Mary serves as a member of the Edmond Art Association, which involves freelance art of all types. She reached the 50-year mark as a member of KKG and continues membership with Chapter FK, P.E.O. Sisterhood. Mary has worked on art/advertising staffs of two newspapers, and has served as secretary for the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. She has also expanded her secretarial experience by working in the religious education deptartment of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma. Mary and her husband have three wonderful children and eight grandchildren, and they enjoy spending time with them. Kathryn Williams Yarbrough '57 retired in San Antonio with her husband, Ralph. Kathryn gets together with other 50-year Kappas on the fifth Tuesday of every month for lunch. E-mail: yarbroughk@aol.com Marcia McNeill Blackburn '58 moved to Glen Rose more than two years ago and loves the small community; however, it is close enough to more populated areas as well. Her husband, Pat, has Parkinson's and they moved there to be closer to doctors and their daughter. Marcia shares that it would be fun to have more information about people in individual KKG pledge classes. Mary Peveto Parker '58 and her husband, Jack, have been married for 54 years. They love every minute that they get to spend with their four children and five grandchildren. Mary and Jack reside in Dallas. E-mail: cherylath@suddenlink.net Judy Chase Webb '58 transferred to the University of Texas in Austin and graduated in 1961, after leaving Texas Tech University in the fall of 1959. Shortly after graduating, she moved to New York and then to Connecticut where she served as the president of the Fairfield, Conn., Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Judy is also the membership chairman of FCAA for the chapter. She proudly says, "Kappa has remained a part of my life since 1957...58 years!" E-mail: nmckappa2@aol.com Betty Hawkins McRae '59 is funding college for three grandsons. Betty's husband, Hamilton, is in a dementia facility following nine and a half years at home. Betty keeps busy running a real estate company, Republic Companies, with Hamilton's partner. Betty resides in Paradise Valley, Ariz. Karen and her husband, Gerald, reside in Southlake, Texas. E-mail: khodges@verizon.net Mary "Bunny" Stromberg Perry '61 and her husband, Richard, are retired at Runaway Bay, Texas, which is a community that includes a golf course and scenic lake view. They are active in both Runaway Bay and Bridgeport in community and church activities. Mary also plays and teaches bridge. She works for legislation to improve education, as well as active and retired teachers' benefits. Mary and her husband are blessed with four wonderful grandsons and love watching them participate in various athletics. "We are both fortunate to be in good health and count every day as a blessing," she says. E-mail: richardperry@embarqmail.com Sandra Edwards Spears '61 and her husband, Richard, moved back to her hometown of Sweetwater, Texas, after retiring. During the time Sandra has lived in Sweetwater, she has been involved in many activities, such as Heart Walk, Relay for Life, and the County-City Library to name a few. Her biggest volunteer efforts have been with the National Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) WWII Museum. Sandra's father was a flight instructor for WASP and in his memory, she has worked to found the museum and help it expand. Most of her time is devoted to the WASP Museum where she serves as president of the board of directors. In July 2015, Sandra presented a program about the WASP in Great Falls, Mont., as part of a celebration of the
