Developed by DMAI, the industry-wide accredita on program dis nguishes official des na on marke ng organiza ons commi ed to industry excellence. The accredita on is good for 8 years. "To become reaccredited, we had to re-apply for this recogni on, and examine and submit current proof of working within DMAI's high standards," says John Meroski, FACVB President and CEO. "It was a long and valuable process and we are pleased that we are compliant on all of DMAI's standards." The program requires a des na on marke ng organiza on (DMO) to successfully comply with a mul tude of mandatory and voluntary standards that span a variety of performance areas to gain this momentous achievement. In the shop you can find locally made food products (such as BBQ sauce, jams, salsa, pickles), pens, keychains, postcards and more. In addition to Fayetteville t-shirts and hats, this spring, we introduced some new clothing items - fun t-shirts, tank tops, stainless steel coffee mugs, hoodies and a variety of hats. Travel to Cumberland County Generated $500 million in 2015 According to figures released by Visit North Carolina in August, domes c travel to Cumberland County generated over $504 million in expenditures in 2015 – a 2.86% increase from 2014. Tourism expenditures in Cumberland County generated state and local tax revenues of $37.84 million, which represents a $116.83 tax savings to each county resident. Addi onally Cumberland County's tourism industry employs 4,400 people with a payroll of $93.15 million. Travel spending in Cumberland County has grown steadily for the last 15 years. In 2001, visitors spent $246 million in Cumberland County. Today they spend 104% more than they did in '01. The sta s cs are from the "Economic Impact of Travel on North Carolina Coun es."
