BETA NU BULLETIN Kappa Kappa Gamma • The Ohio State University Fall 2016 Lease Agreement with Delta Gamma We are happy to report that Ohio State took great care of the chapter house with no one living in it over the past year. And, we are happy to report that we have leased the property to the Epsilon Chapter of Delta Gamma for the next two academic school years (2016-17 and 2017-18). Since Delta Gamma is guaranteeing two full years of rent, it allows us to collect enough to cover all of our mortgage, property tax, insurance, and licensing expenses, along with much of our corporate expenses. If we had rented to a Living Learning Community, we would still have about a $100,000 short fall each year, meaning that a portion of campaign pledges would have to cover operational expenses in the future. While Delta Gamma will still be living in the home as we recolonize in Spring of 2018, we are confident this will not negatively impact our recolonization efforts given the timing of that process. There will be more to come on that plan in future newsletters. In anticipation of some of your questions regarding our agreement with Delta Gamma, here are a few highlights: • The archive room, red study rooms in the basement, and the BNBA office in the basement are off limits. BETA NU CHAPTER HOUSE OCCUPIED FOR NEXT TWO YEARS Donor Recognition through Ohio State Extended • Delta Gamma must provide a house manual (to be ap- proved by BNBA) to all members including all rules and policies previously established by BNBA and must provide a semi-annual house orientation for all members to review the house manual. • Delta Gamma is responsible for all missing items, damage, or maintenance required as a result of use or overuse determined by OSU to be above and beyond the regular maintenance agreement. • Delta Gamma may not permanently affix any letters, symbols, or other insignia to the outside of the house, but may temporarily affix a sign using zip ties to the balcony. • Beta Nu formal sitting room and entryway furniture will be stored and not utilized during the Delta Gamma lease agreement. • Decor may be installed in common areas by professional maintenance workers only and with the pre-approval of BNBA. If you have additional questions, please contact Julie Jenkins '76 at juliejenkins75@gmail.com. OSU Extends Donor Recognition Great news! In an extension of good faith, The Ohio State Foundation and Donor Relations team has extended donor recognition for alumnae who donate $3,000 or more each calendar year to Kappa. Your gift of $3,000 will qualify you for President's Club recognition. This agreement has been extended for the next three years (through 2018) and will not be renewed after that time. Now is the time to give through Kappa to qualify for the donor benefits. Although 2015 was a trying year for Beta Nu, we are on track toward our goal of coming back to campus in 2018. It continues to remain important to come together to ensure that Beta Nu remains at Ohio State for the next 127 years. Loyally, Beta Nu Building Association Board We know Beta Nu positively influenced so many lives at Ohio State and in the next few years, alumnae are going to be the key to a successful recolonization. We need alumnae now who will have a positive influence on future Beta Nus for years to come. We hope you will consider making a commitment and help Beta Nu. Please contact Julie Jenkins '76 at juliejenkins75@gmail.com if you would like to volunteer your time. Alumnae Volunteers Needed
