Lopeman, the daughter of Chuck and RaeC Lopeman, was named the 2016-2017 California State High School Rodeo Asso- ciation District One Queen, tak- ing over for 2015-2016 District One Queen Tucker Hammons, on May 4. From there, the Red Bluff High School student who will be a junior in the fall, took to the road and competed against nine girls for the title of CHSRA's Miss California High School Ro- deo at the state finals in Bishop in June. She came in as the first runner up, which made her el- igible to compete in the Silver State International Rodeo queen contest in Winnemucca, Nevada, where she placed as the second runner up. Lopeman won in the written and speech portion of the Silver State competition. "I'm very excited," Lopeman said. "Becoming the new CHSRA District One Queen allows me to promote the wonderful sport of rodeo." Sean E. O'Brien, 21, and Corey J. Pfleiler, 19, were booked into Te- hama County Jail on the felony charge of burglary in connec- tion with the 5 a.m. incident, ac- cording to a press release issued Thursday. O'Brien was booked on three counts of the charge along with an additional felony charge of vandalism over $5,000. His bail is $80,000. Pfleiler was booked on one charge of burglary. His bail is $50,000. Tehama County Sheriff's Dep- uties responded Wednesday to investigate and learned that the two suspects had broken doors and serving windows in the con- cession stand near the football field, the release said. During the break-in, O'Brien and Pfleiler re- moved a box of the high school's souvenirs and scattered them across the football field. BURLGARY Two arrested in Los Molinos High break-in By Heather Hoelscher hhoelscher@redbluffdailynews.com @DN_Heather on Twitter RED BLUFF The Red Bluff man charged with murder stemming from an incident on June 4 in Campbellville, a mountain area east of Los Molinos, pleaded not guilty Wednesday at the Tehama County Superior Courthouse. Thomas Michael Dixon, 25, was arrested June 5 after Butte County Sheriff's Office received a call from Dixon reporting he had shot a man in self defense. Dixon is scheduled back in court for a settlement confer- ence at 10 a.m. Sept. 19 in de- partment one and for a prelimi- nary hearing on Sept. 20 in de- partment two of the courthouse, according to a spokeswoman from the clerks office. Tehama County Sheriff's Of- fice received a transferred call at 6:30 p.m. June 4 from Butte County Sheriff's Office stating Dixon called to report he shot a person who tried to steal some of his property and attacked him. A California Highway Pa- trol helicopter was requested and medical was staged out of Butte County that night. According to logs Dixon said his arm had been cut during the attack. At 7:44 p.m. it was con- firmed that there was a fatality and a coroner was requested. A 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun was entered into evidence at the scene. Deputies located the victim, who appeared to have been mortally wounded from a fire- arm shot, according to a press release by the Tehama County Sheriff's Office. Deputies con- tacted Dixon at the scene and admitted to killing the victim, who was not identified by the Sheriff's Office. The scene where the homicide occurred was an active mari- juana cultivation site and the in- vestigation is ongoing into the motive for the shooting, accord- ing to the release. It is reported the victim was a white man from the Campbell- ville community. Dixon remains in custody held on $2 million bail at the Tehama County Jail.
