iii iii iii iii iii iii iii iii S pring is in full swing and the Affiliated House Corporation (AHC) hosted our annual meeting on April 9 to prepare for the upcoming months at Alpha Delta. We voted on work that needs to take place this summer, both minimal and major. First, we are redecorating what many of us know as the Pine room, or more recently, the TV room. Secondly, there are the usual maintenance repairs on the outside of the building and repainting interior halls and bedrooms. Thirdly, we are working to revamp what we all fondly call the "Ugly room." After discussing these renovation plans, Karen Rawlings '64 offered to host a luncheon at her home and we were thankful for the opportunity to gather as alumnae. KEEPING OUR CHAPTER SAFE As many of you know, this fall was very different at Mizzou with protests causing sororities to go on lockdown for two days. I am so proud of the way our executive officers, and our House Director, Mom Kim, handled the situation and kept all members safe. We hosted our AHC meeting shortly after those events and Cindy Gates Wood '77 baked 200 crescent moon cookies to deliver to chapter members, letting them know alumnae care about our active members. ECSTATIC ABOUT CONVENTION This year is a convention year and AHC is happy to offer some financial assistance to help pay for members to attend. There will be seven exectuive council members, two chapter advisors, new Financial Advisor Karen Story, Alpha Theta '81, and two members of the AHC gathered at convention. The Alpha Delta chapter overall attendance will be a record 12 members! HONORING UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARS In April, the chapter hosted a special dinner to honor its top scholars in Columbia at the Old Hawthorne, a private country club. AHC was helping to pay for this event and we had 48 undergraduates and alumnae attend. It was a wonderful evening featuring a first-time award for undergraduates with the highest GPAs engraved on a silver platter sponsored by the Columbia Alumnae Group. There were many fun things planned for the evening, including a photo booth. We look forward to making this an annual tradition for many years to come. Please see the photos on page 3.
