4A Daily News – Thursday, May 24, 2012 Pastimes Well Being Faire set for June 2 Downtown The Well Being Faire and the Sidewalk Sale is scheduled for June 2. Signs are being put up by Jessie Woods of the Gold Exchange and Joanne Ehorn of Ehorn's Antiques & More. The event is co-sponsored by the Downtown Business Association and The Center for Mind and Body Control. The event will be held at 623 Main St., and there will be street vendors. If anyone would still like to be part of this event, call Joanne at 527-03460 or Jessie at 528- 8000. Fair in Shingletown The Shingletown Medical Center will be hosting its Mountain Art & Health Fair on 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 23. The event is free to the public and will have an array of talented artists and craft vendors as well as an assortment of informational booths designed to bring awareness to the many health-related programs and services located in the surrounding area. The event will take place outside the Shin- Mountain Art & Health gletown Medical Center, which is just a 30- minute drive due east on Highway 44 from Redding and located directly below Mt. Lassen, so the air is fresh and cool from the summer-time heat. it will have Sweetie's Café & Catering with its 14 ft. barbeque serving a variety of tasty treats from pulled pork tacos, to teriyaki and BBQ Chicken on a stick, corn on the cob and much more. The Medical Center is pleased to announce vendors along with the Farmer's Market and, of course Grandpa's Kettle Korn. Live music will be from the band Wild Card with arrangements of country, blues and hot vintage rock, so dancing on the lawn is encouraged. The fair will have a variety of fun dessert variety of fun children's prize booths and entertainment by Korndogg Klowning doing face painting and balloon art. In addition to all the other exciting vendors, the helicopter from Reach Air Ambulance will be on display, and the Bloodsource bloodmo- bile will be on site and available to accept donations. And last but hardly least, the Northern Cal- ifornia Veterans Historical Association is bringing up their famous mobile military museum which is housed inside a Huey heli- copter. Connie thanked 2011 Vice Presi- dent Chrissie Clapp for her service, gifting Clapp with a fishing hat and gloves as she is a fisherwoman who is a teacher for Casting Recovery, an organiza- tion which offers fly fishing retreats for breast cancer survivors, in addition to her involve- ment with several other fishing groups.
