This annual family-f riendly event is const ant ly grow ing in bot h at tendance and at t ract ions. According to R het t St roupe, t he special event s coordinator, t here is expected to be more t han 40,000 fair-goers. There are also t hree new rides, "t he Magic Maze, it is a glass house walk t hrough, and t wo k iddie rides, The Farm Tractors and t he Happy Puppies," Stoupe said. In addition to these three new rides, there are plent y of fun and exciting activities at the fair. There is something of interest for everyone and more than enough fun activities to offer days of fairground fun. "The fair will have over 30 adult and kiddie carnival rides, midway games as well as food and live entertainment Thursday through Sunday. "Fairgoers will have easy access to the Fairgrounds off Bragg Boulevard at Howell Street and Gruber Road," Stroupe added. One of t he most poplar aspect s of t he annual For t Bragg Fair is t he live enter t ainment . There w ill be a variet y of bands and shows such as R ime Ty me, Zack Stone, Jeremiah Jones, Phaze, Freeway and Islandt ime Band. According to St roupe, t he real can't-miss performance is Kachunga and t he A lligator Show. This show began in 1982 as a way to increase public awareness and educat ion regarding t hese misunderstood and nat ive rept iles. It 's success and popularit y has t urned into one of t he most popular performances at fairs and fest ivals in t he United St ates and Canada. There are even a tot al of f ive touring unit s. Kachunga is an American bushman f rom t he swamps of Florida who has t he power and k nowledge to handle t he ferocious alligators. The danger is great and t he excitement is palpable. Despite all of t he excitement, t he shows are completely safe for t he audience and for t he alligators. The primar y goal is educat ion. A ll of t he performers are highly k nowledgeable and t rained and t he alligators are t reated w it h respect . Organizing t he fair ever y year t akes a lot of hard work, but for St roupe t he smiles and joy t hat t he end result s generate more t han makes up for it . At it s core t hat is what t he For t Bragg Fair is about . It is about creat ing a f un and safe env ironment for t he communit y to come and enjoy t he warm weat her and each ot her. It is family f riendly and has a w ide variet y of act iv it ies for ever yone to enjoy. For t hose new to t he For t Bragg Fair, St roupe has t he follow ing adv ice, "Take advant age of t he Customer Appreciat ion Specials, Monday t hrough Friday, 5-7 p.m., for t he low price of $7 per person. A s a result of t he rock bot tom price, many fairgoers come back to t he fair mult iple t imes to t ake advant age of t he special." General admission on weekends, t he most popular days is $17.
