Our annual House Corporation meeting is Sunday, April 17 (A-Day Weekend) at 12:30 p.m. in our beautiful dining room. We hope a Sunday afternoon meeting will work for many of you to attend. The Nominating Committee slate for the HC Board of Directors will be presented, with nominations from the floor and election. And yes, YOU are part of House Corporation—all Delta Mu DDDs and area DDDs from any chapter are members. I urge you to come, see some friends, renew connections, and enjoy your sisterhood bonds! You know it takes a village, and in this case, it takes us all to help Delta Mu excel as a philanthropic, academic, and social leader. The friendliness and sincerity of the girls and the comfortable and inviting atmosphere of the Round House drew me to DDD. Living in the Round House is one of my favorite memories from my years at UA, as I lived there for two and a half years. I even had the same roommate, Betty Bates McKewen '67, all four years of college. The fact that my mother, Betty Rowe Finch '40, had been a Delta Mu also influenced my choice. I have two sisters, Barbara Finch Thompson '73 and Susan Finch Gunn '69, who pledged Tri Delta after me and this is truly a special bond we have always treasured. "I earned a B.S. and master's in education and a master's in administration from the University of Alabama, and I have worked in education every year since I finished undergraduate school in 1970. I have been principal of Verner Elementary School in Tuscaloosa for 29 years. Prior to that, I was an elementary teacher; a principal in Columbus, Georgia; worked for the University of Alabama and Shelton State Junior College; and was the first director and kindergarten teacher of First Presbyterian Preschool. "My husband, Billy, and I have four children and four grandchildren. Billy's twin sister, Julie Curtis Pate '67, was in my pledge class! "I have served as Chapter/alumnae advisor, alumnae recruitment advisor, House Corporation president and treasurer, and have been a member of alumnae associations since I graduated. I have lived in three different cities since leaving UA, and the first thing I did in each city was affiliate with the Tri Delta alumnae associations. Anywhere you go, you find connections through Tri Delta and are proud to say you are a sister. "Tri Delta gave me opportunities for which I will always be grateful. It provided a home away from home and gave me unique and lasting friendships. I found opportunities that encouraged my own personal development and leadership interests as I served as assistant treasurer, recruitment chairman, and president. The scholastic standards helped me achieve my academic goals and there were always opportunities to be involved in community and college service. "My pledge sisters continue to be some of my dearest friends and we definitely stay in touch. These are the friends with whom I shared all of the great times in college and with whom I made the best memories. The lifelong connections and relationships my Tri Delta sisters provided, and continue to provide, support and celebrate my life's significant moments." Alumnae News (Continued on page 4)
