Recreation Center Project Homeless Connect will be held on May 17 at the Smith Recreation Center from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Project Homeless Connect Plans Outreach at Smith Cooperative Extension Master Gardener Volunteers will host a plant sale and fair on Saturday, May 12 from 9 a.m. until all the plants have been sold. The sale will be held at the Cooperative Extension Center at 301 East Mountain Dr. A large variety of plants will be available for purchase including easy-to-grow perennials; annuals; hard-to- find plants; those that attract birds, bees and butterflies; plants grown by the Master Gardeners; disease-resistant roses and more. Bring your wagon and come early for the best selection of plants. Garden art, gardening gloves, stainless plant labels, custom notecards and garden journals will also be on sale. Master Gardeners will be available to advise buyers on purchases and to answer your gardening questions. Monetary and in-kind donations The annual event is sponsored by the Cumberland County Continuum of Care on Homelessness and is designed to give the homeless in Fayetteville and Cumberland County access to agencies and services that can help make a difference in their lives. The Fayetteville Area System of Transit will provide free transportation to the event.
