p. 3 Sigma Chi CHAPTER CONTINUES SUCCESS WITH FALL ACHIEVEMENTS A nother great fall semester is in the books for the Gamma Delta Chapter, highlighted by our participation and success in "America's Greatest Homecoming" in October. We had another great initiation in November, thanks to outstanding work from our ritual team and supportive brothers. Successful Homecoming Effort Homecoming was a successful effort for the Chapter, led by Will Kuykendall '16 and Joshua Hill '16, in conjunction with the women of Chi Omega. We tied for third in the Greek Life division of the Harvest Carnival and placed fifth in House Decorations. We thank Chi Omega for another fun and successful year in Homecoming. Unfortunately, the weekend's festivities were darkened by the tragic parade accident, and our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the families of those affected by the unfortunate incident. Campus Involvement and Philanthropy Derby Days has our focus for the spring semester, and we look forward to hosting another successful philanthropy in 2016 to support Huntsman Cancer Research. Brother Evan McMillen '17 continues a great tradition of IFC representation of the Chapter, having been elected secretary of the IFC executive board for 2016. Academics The Chapter achieved a member grade point average of 3.05 and the fall 2015 pledge class earned a 3.12. There is still room for improvement in the classroom, and we look forward to setting a good standard for grades this semester. Chapter Activities The Chapter hosted another successful Gamma Delta alumni hosted great tailgates for OSU home football games this fall. Forty-two active brothers received scholarships for earning a GPA of 3.0-4.0. initiation in November for 41 new members. The active members sincerely appreciate the support of all brothers who attended and assisted in the ceremonies, particularly the legacies who were able to be make it out to support their newly initiated brothers. We plan on fielding a spring pledge class of five to 10 men, and look forward to the continued recruitment of men exemplifying the Jordan Standard. A group of executives, new initiates, and numerous other brothers look forward to attending Sigma Chi's province convention in Arkansas this February. We will be updated on the status of our neighboring chapters and learn more about the new pledge program to be adopted in the fall. The new executive team is excited to bring original ideas to the table in 2016 and continue the great momentum the previous executives and brothers created over the past year. The Gamma Delta Chapter looks forward to continued success and a prosperous 2016.
