The chili cook off groups were cooking away, live music playing, a car show, vendor booths and lots of fun was going on at the same time. Cowboy Church, who had a stick horse rodeo and parade going on beside us started us up with the National Anthem, then instructions and rules were given out to the partici- pants, then the roping began. All primary members received Olympic style medals. First place prizes for the three older groups was a Cactus rope, sec- ond place was a 4-H duffel bag with goodies inside them and the third place prizes were 4-H drawstring back backs with goodies in them. Top three winners by age group were: 9 to 11: first- Tanner Darst, second- Cheyenne Pilger, third- Trevor Pilger; 12 to 13, top two winners were: first- Kate Picha-Arndt, second- The day ended up sunny, the rain stopped the night before, and the fog burned off just in time for a great roping event. The Tehama County 4-H Roping Project group had a fantastic day on Saturday, April 14, for its first "11 Days of Round Up" dummy roping event. Primary ropers age 8 and under will receive medals.
