Chapter House Undergoes Much-Needed Updates
T
hank you for all of your generous donations this spring and summer. As always, we
made wonderful updates and improvements to the chapter house. Of course, a lot
of money and time goes into many smaller projects, which are too numerous to mention.
We also always do regular maintenance, including cleaning the chapter house, painting
on a rotating basis, and all of the required inspections.
Here is a quick summary:
H Formal living room: removed the fake fire place, recovered chairs, added new
throw pillows, coffee tables, and accent pieces
H Informal living room: recovered the two informal sofas and added new
pillows; special thanks to the Parents' Club for making major donations to
this project
H Annex bathroom: completely renovated, including new bathroom stalls
and tile
H Study hall: added new sofas, chairs, tables, etc.; special thanks to the Parents'
Club for making major donations to this project
H Delta Beach: added new cushions and moved bike rack
H Snack room: painted white and straightened up
H Annex: replaced the desk tops on all desks, removed the old mirrored doors
and replaced with black curtains
H Kitchen: purchased additional everyday dishes and silverware
H Outside: completed major repairs to outdoor sprinkler system
H Windows: replaced more windows, which is a multi-year project
H Shutters: replaced more shutters, which is a multi-year project
We are grateful to Claudia Bradford Robertson '74 and Melanie Skaggs Russell
'79, who donated most of the upgrades to the formal living room, including recovering
chairs, purchasing accent pieces, donating new throw pillows, and much more! These
generous women also coordinated all of the decorating projects in the chapter house
this summer.
Please consider adding your name to the growing list of donors on page 2 by sending
your gift with the enclosed pledge card today! Contributions of any amount are needed
and truly appreciated.
